How to Make $1000 Per Month as a Shaklee Distributor

Shaklee is the number one natural nutrition company in the United States.  Their products range from nutritional and weight loss aids to natural cleaning products.  I recently had the opportunity to discuss Shaklee with Erin, at Healthy Branscoms, who first became a Shaklee distributor because her doctor suggested she take supplements for migraines and seizures.  Erin became a distributor by default; she was looking to find a deal buying the products, and by buying a distributor kit, she got half of her products for free.  She felt and looked so much better after taking the Shaklee products that people asked her what her secret was and began buying Shaklee products for themselves.  She is amazed at how her business has grown.  In fact, she plans to quit her full-time law enforcement job to sell Shaklee full-time and stay home with her young daughter.

How to Get Started with Shaklee

Getting started at Shaklee is not free.  There are a variety of “ambassador” level kits you can choose from.  Shaklee recommends new distributors start with the GOLD ambassador level which costs $299 and includes $500 R.V. worth of products.  Erin opted for the top ambassador level which cost $599 and included $950 R.V. worth of products.  However, after that initial investment, her only overhead is $14.99 per month for her website.

How Much Work Is Required?

Erin began working only 5 to 10 hours a week.  She attended a seminar that taught her to work smarter, and she became more productive in less time.  She had to as she is the mother to three children, holds a full-time job and runs her Shaklee business.  Still, last year she and her husband were able to pay down $23,000 worth of debt, in part due to her Shaklee sales.  She works on average 15 to 20 hours a week, but says that those hours are entirely work hours as she has tried to eliminate all time wasters from her day.  She makes more now selling Shaklee than she does at her full-time job as a law enforcement officer.  Erin feels making $1,000 a month working 15 hours a week is entirely possible.

What New Shaklee Sellers Should Know

As with many new businesses, you should plan to maintain consistent hours regularly.  Erin’s business took a full year to become profitable enough that she could consider leaving her full-time job, which she will be doing in two short weeks!  It also helps if you have a flair for sales; still, Erin feels that the products sell themselves because they are so useful to so many people.

Shaklee has been in business for 50 years, and Erin loves the supportive environment.  Even though Shaklee has many distributors, Erin says the people in the office know her by name.  In addition, she loves the Shaklee emphasis on family; they always recommend distributors put their families first, then focus on their business because if your family isn’t running smoothly, it will be difficult for your business to run smoothly.
